Local news is filled with segments of murders, sexual assault, robberies went awry or home invasions. This is expected of any society and poses a risk to the welfare of its residents. Some may decide to take stringent measures to guarantee their safety and that of their family. It is assumed that the automatic weapon of defense is a firearm. This is not true. A gun comes with a great deal of responsibility involving registration, training, and safekeeping to prevent any chance of an accident occurring. This puts off some families, and they instead opt for non-firearm weapons for self-defense. Among the common weapons are stun guns, tactical flashlights, self-defense keychains, pepper sprays, tactical knives, tactical pens, self-defense courses, whistles, and many more.

What Are the Crime Statistics?

According to the national crime database, a house, condominium or apartment is burglarized every 15 seconds. The burglary data includes a whopping 3.6 billion dollar price tag worth of stolen property. Other reports point out over 300,000 rape-related cases being reported nationwide. If you are against the use of a firearm, there are less lethal ways you can take to stay safe.

Tactical Knife

The tactical knife is regarded as the best self-defense weapon anyone can carry. It works best around 20 feet. The best knives are light in weight with a blade long enough to provide ample defensive room. Experts recommend roughly 3 inches. Most tactical knives are turgid enough to hold their own in the vent of a fight. Ensure to house it carefully within a pocket clip so it can be quickly retracted.
